Support Staff-2017-2018 School Improvement Grant-Head Custodian ($1,250 Signing Bonus Offered+Additional Bonuses)
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Verifiable experience with custodial equipment (scrubbers, burnishers, extractors, buffers, etc.).
Three years verifiable experience in custodial field.
Two years managerial experience is desired.
Position Goal: The Custodial Manager supervises custodians in the performance of their duties to provide a clean and safe environment for the students and faculty, while participating in all phases of the work at all times. In addition, this position is responsible for the efficient and satisfactory operation of the custodial department in accordance with district policies, procedures, and 6A-2 Rules, inclusive of the custodial budget and custodial related reports.
Examples of Responsibilities:
To be directly responsible for the proper care of the school plant to conform or exceed 6A-2 requirements.
To provide a clean, properly maintain, and operational safe environment for the students and faculty.
To plan, organize, and supervise the work of custodial personnel.
To perform the selection, placement, transfer, termination and annual evaluation of custodial personnel and make recommendation to the Principal for approval.
To assist the principal in the preparation of the annual custodial budget within the guidelines of the approved school budget and maintain Board approved budget and coordinate expenditure with the school bookkeeper.
To maintain and assist in all custodial related reports and coordinate with appropriate school personnel.
To establish and maintain an inventory of permanent and expendable materials necessary to carry out all custodial functions.
To assist in providing adequate security for school facility.
To remain on 24 hour call.
To perform minor repairs on equipment and fixtures.
To assist in maintaining property record inventory
To assist and maintain F.I.S.H. report when requested.
To assist in implementing special projects for administrators and faculty.
To actively participate in all custodial training courses, as they are offered by the district, leading to Certification in the Professional Custodian Program.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
