**Must Meet No Child Left Behind Act Requirement:

From an Accredited College – Associate or Higher Degree or 60 Semester Hours

or Passing Score of 464 or higher on Paraprofessional Test

Position Goal: The ESE Classroom Aide is responsible for assisting the teacher in carrying out the requirements of individual education plans of exceptional students.

Examples of Responsibilities:

To assist the teacher in the instruction of exceptional students

To assist with the specific instructional, behavioral, medical, academic, and other needs of students To assist the teacher with general clerical/housekeeping activities

To assist in physical care of students assigned (toileting and clean-up)

To assist in transportation of children from one area to another involving carrying and lifting of students

To carry out therapy/treatment program of those children assigned

To assist in feeding programs

To aid in developing and implementation of individual educational plans

To attend a minimum of (6) hours annually of ESE inservice offered by ESE Department

Must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
