**Must Meet No Child Left Behind Act Requirement:
From an Accredited College – Associate or Higher Degree or 60 Semester Hours
or Passing Score of 464 or higher on Paraprofessional Test
Position Goal: The ESE Classroom Aide is responsible for assisting the teacher in carrying out the requirements of individual education plans of exceptional students.
Examples of Responsibilities:
To assist the teacher in the instruction of exceptional students.
To assist with the specific instructional, behavioral, medical, academic, and other needs of students
To assist the teacher with general clerical/housekeeping activities.
To assist in physical care of students assigned (toileting and clean-up).
To assist in transportation of children from one area to another involving carrying and lifting of students
To carry out therapy/treatment program of those children assigned.
To assist in feeding programs.
To aid in developing and implementation of individual educational plans.
To attend a minimum of (6) hours annually of ESE inservice offered by ESE Department.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
