Support Staff-Senior Buyer
H.S. Diploma or GED required
Minimum of three (3) years of purchasing experience
Position Goal: Approve requisitions from various departments and schools upon verification of bid or quote information, and ensure district standards are met. Create bids and obtain vendor quotes to procure items in the most cost efficient manner.
Examples of Responsibilities:
Create detailed specifications for items on formal bids.
Approve requisitions from various departments and schools upon verification bid or quote information. and ensure district standards are met.
Conduct pre-bid conferences or walk-throughs. Perform issuance of agenda and bid openings. Recommend bid award and acceptance of project after completion.
Obtain competitive pricing by sending out formal bids or quotes for goods and. services. Obtain verbal and written quotes.
Work with end user to ensure their specific needs are met. Resolve any conflicts between the vendor and the district personnel.
Research commodities on a regular basis for new, revised and updated products which will effect district specifications.
Develop good working relations between the purchasing department and end users, by explaining state statutes and school district policy and procedures for obtaining goods and services.
Establish a good working relationship with vendors to ensure the district's needs are met in a timely and cost efficient manner. Assist school/department personnel with preparation of purchase requisitions for goods and services.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
