Support Staff-Extended Day Assistant (NBN)
H.S. Diploma or GED required, CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.
Two (2) years related experience preferred.
Position Goal: This position is involved in setting up, planning and operating the Extended Day programs.
Examples of Responsibilities:
To follow procedures to safeguard the health and safety of the children in the program.
To serve nutritious snacks and to maintain accurate counts of snacks served.
To establish and maintain open communications between Extended Day Program staff and parents.
To involve parents in programs.
To follow through with appropriate tasks, procedures and policies.
To help maintain positive relations with school personnel.
To participate in staff conferences and staff development sessions when necessary.
To attend and participate in appropriate meetings with workshops.
To remain in the program area during assigned hours unless specifically assigned to duty elsewhere.
To maintain work area in a neat, clean manner conducive to play appropriate to the age group and to perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
To hold parent conference when appropriate.
To ensure that equipment and materials are accessible and in good condition.
To implement and plan a flexible daily program of appropriate activities and to submit lesson plans weekly to Supervisor.
To report any significant problems or any unusual behavior of children to Supervisor.
To perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
