Job Description

Qualifications:

At least three (3) years of related experience in public or community relations

Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a wide variety of people

Considerable knowledge of the school district and community

Previous experience in special event planning, marketing and public relations

Position Goal: To supervise and successfully operate the Performing Arts Center

Examples of Responsibilities:

To develop a process for event booking the Performing Arts Center utilizing both electronic methods and traditional methods of scheduling, including all additional technical and/or ancillary services as required by the event

To promote the Performing Arts Center and Exhibit Hall to generate additional revenue through event bookings

To prepare an annual budget for operation of the facility and manage the budget to remain fiscally solvent

To maintain financial reports as required by district financial guidelines

To coordinate and manage all events and functions scheduled for the Performing Arts Center

To schedule and/or contract independent theater technicians, as needed for scheduled events, adhering to district policies

To maintain and schedule repair of the theater's technical equipment, facility and stage sets as necessary

To oversee the development of a web site which will promote the services available at the Performing Arts Center

To interact with the Fine and Performing Arts School principal on apprenticeship programs

To serve as a liaison with the Performing Arts Center and Osceola District Schools staff in providing event services as required

To make decisions regarding employment, dismissal and evaluation of the assigned clerical and technical staff

To supervise clerical, maintenance and technical staff as assigned

To assist in long-range development of the Fine & Performing Arts Center

To develop working relationships with area attractions, work industry, and civic organizations to build a file of interested partners
