Job description
Coordinate initiatives to enhance student achievement and learning within the assigned curricular area. Design, develop, and deliver professional learning opportunities to strengthen teachers’ ability to provide high-quality Tier 1 instruction and improve student outcomes. Collaborate with schools to support their achievement goals through the effective use of district-developed curriculum maps, assessments, and professional learning.

Coordinate the development and creation of curriculum and assessment for all district approved course codes within defined curriculum area.
Provide instructional leadership and coaching for the K-12 Educational Specialist and district resource teachers under your supervision.
Provide content-related information and updates to site-based administration.
Provide guidelines for student scheduling and appropriate course placement within defined curriculum area.
Serve as the district resource for state and federal legislation updates within defined curriculum area.
Adhere to, and ensure the implementation of, state and federal statutory requirements related to defined curriculum area.
Initiate, organize, and direct the textbook adoption process for defined curriculum area.
Organize local academic competitions for students within defined curriculum area.
Ensure differentiation within district curriculum maps for your curriculum area to meet the needs of all learners.
Work with the Research, Evaluation, and Accountability department to develop formative assessments for defined curriculum area.
Plan and implement needs-based professional learning and use feedback to continually improve the quality of professional learning sessions within defined curriculum area.
Engage in data analysis using formative and summative assessment data and identify trends and next steps to ensure continuous improvement.
Possess deep knowledge and understanding of all academic programs and curriculum being utilized
within defined curriculum area.
Ensure equitable access to instruction and curriculum materials for English Language Learners within defined content area.
Ensure equitable access to instruction and curriculum materials for Exceptional Education Students within defined content area.

Required qualifications, skills and experience
Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, or related field; Master’s degree with certification in Educational Administration supervision/Educational Leadership preferred.
Work Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in teaching or administration with a Bachelor’s degree; Five (5) years of experience in teaching or administration with a Master’s degree.
