Job Description
1. Provide input on the selection, support, development of Instructional Mentors
2. Lead Instructional Mentor recruitment and selection in partnership with district personnel
3. Plan and manage orientation process for Instructional Mentors
4. Provide regular, one-on-one support and development to Instructional Mentors
5. Analyze NTC Learning Zone to inform conversations with Instructional Mentors
6. Observe Instructional Mentors through frequent field visits
7. Provide regular, one-on-one support meetings with each Instructional Mentor
8. Provide regular, responsive availability via phone and email
9. Lead team meetings that differentiate based on the needs of the Instructional Mentors
10. Support, develop, and sustain partnership with district leaders, principals, and other instructional leaders
11. Work to establish new teacher induction and mentoring as integral to talent development work in the district served, and ensure linkages to district-based supports
12. Make initial contact with district leaders and principals
13. Communicate with district leaders and principals around the needs of beginning teachers
14. Coordinate with district leaders and principals to ensure that the first priority of the Instructional Mentors is mentoring, and that other activities do not take more than the agreed-upon number of hours per month.
15. Attend monthly district and/or principal meetings as needed
16. Serve as a resource for district professional development
17. Collaborate with district Human Resources personnel and Program Lead to create and update roster of beginning teachers to ensure that all new teachers are assigned an Instructional Mentor in a timely fashion.
18. Organize, analyze, and communicate about data on the mentoring practice of Instructional Mentors and progress of their beginning teachers
19. Analyze data submitted by Instructional Mentors to ensure right frequency and high quality of interactions
20. Use Mentoring log data to inform development of Instructional Mentors
21. Lead new teacher professional development
22. Co-plan and co-deliver with Instructional Mentors professional development for new teachers
23. Provide critical feedback to Instructional Mentors regarding the delivery of professional development 24. Design, facilitate, and attend internal professional development including: Instructional Mentor forums; bi-monthly team meetings; additional NTC training; NTC Symposium, as applicable; NTC Mentor Academy (co-facilitate with Program Lead and/or NTC staff); peer mentoring
25. Facilitate communication between Program Lead and Instructional Mentors
26. Provide feedback and on-the-ground insights to Program Lead
27. Act as a sounding board for Program Lead as they consider new programming and/or expansion of current programming.
28. Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information
1. Bachelor's degree and Master’s degree required
2. Valid Florida teaching certification
3. Exemplary experience mentoring beginning teachers in a full-release mentoring model
4. Five (5) years of recent classroom teaching experience (K-12); a distinguished track record in hard-to-staff schools is highly desired
5. Experience leading and designing professional development
6. Strong working knowledge of formative assessment tools and protocols
7. Completion of New Teacher Center’s (NTC) Mentor Academy(s)
8. Self-directed individual and natural problem solver
9. Ability to thrive in a team environment and have a healthy tolerance for ambiguity
10. Able to motivate a group of mentor teachers while maintaining the team’s focus on the district’s goals and initiatives, as well as NTC’s mission and priorities
11. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create trusting relationships
12. Passionate about improving the working lives of new teachers and the academic outcomes of all students
