Job description
To introduce, plan, and implement specialized career education opportunities for students
with significant cognitive/learning disabilities. Assist in the assessment, planning,
development, implementation, and evaluation of the overall management of the oTECH Transitional
program instructional curriculum.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To maintain a valid Florida Teaching Certificate or VOC 7/CTE License.
2. To conform to all rules and regulations that may be prescribed by the State Board of Education; and
conform to the rules and regulation that may be prescribed by the School Board where such rules and
regulations are not inconsistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
3. To use prescribed materials and methods in the efficient execution of his/her teaching duties according to
subject area or grade level to which assigned.
4. To prepare and maintain such records and reports as may be required by State and Federal law,
regulations of the State Board, School Board, or School Administration.
5. To fulfill the term of any signed written contract, unless released from such contract by the School Board.
6. Assist in the planning and implementation of internships, intensive career observations and on-the-job
training opportunities and to assist students with job placement.
7. Incorporate vocational speakers, activities, and trips for students.
8. To perform other duties as assigned by the Director or program coordinator.
9. Initiate and manage the instructional material adoption process related to the appropriate content area.
10. Advocate for the effective participation in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) by teachers
and students.
11. Promote employability skills training and job awareness by presenting regular classroom career
enhancement programs and providing teacher training.
12. Ensure that Transitional 504 students have equal access to instruction and materials related
to the appropriate content area.
13. Participate in the reporting and sharing of program evaluation data, and coordinate the timely submission
of all required performance reports documenting progress of project goals.
