Job Description


High School Diploma or GED required, CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.

0 – 1 year related experience preferred.

Position Goal:  This position is involved in setting up, planning and operating the Extended Day programs.

Examples of Responsibilities: To provide leadership to maintain responsibility for all children in the group during duty hours.

To follow procedures to safeguard the health and safety of the children in the program.

To order and serve nutritious snacks and to maintain accurate counts of snacks served.

To establish and maintain open communications between Extended Day Program staff and to involve parents in programs.

To follow through with appropriate tasks, procedures and policies.

To help maintain positive relations with school personnel.

To participate in staff conferences and staff development sessions when necessary.

To attend and participate in appropriate meetings with workshops.

To remain in the program area during assigned hours unless specifically assigned to duty.

To determine supplies and equipment req uired for the program and advise Supervisor of needs.

To maintain work area in a neat, clean manner conducive to constructive plan appropriate to hold parent conferences when appropriate.

To ensure that equipment and materials are accessible and in good condition.

To prepare, implement and plan a flexible daily program of appropriate activities and to submit lesson plans weekly to Supervisor.

To report any significant problems or any unusual behavior of children to Supervisor.

To ensure accurate attendance records are kept and submitted weekly to Supervisor.

To receipt monies collected from parents for fees and to complete Monies Collected Form weekly.

To pick up Pre-K fees and deliver to designated bookkeeper, if necessary.

To perform all teacher assistant duties as assigned by Supervisor.

To perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
