Job description
This position is responsible for repairs and maintenance of a variety of electrical systems, appliances and equipment. Work is performed independently using specialized tools and is checked upon completion for performance and compliance with safety practices and regulations
Repair and maintain HVAC and refrigeration equipment
Overhaul and service HVAC and refrigeration equipment by repairing, replacing, or adjusting worn or broken parts (air handler units, DX Equipment, pumps, motors, VFD, coolers, freezers, ice machines, etc.)
Test equipment for leaks, adjust, and repair valves and piping connections, fittings, change or adjust belts, replace gaskets and hardware
Add and remove refrigerants following EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) requirements and properly recording its use, check pressures, and make inspections for preventive maintenance
Assist Building Automation System Specialist in the repairs and maintenance of the building automation system
Assist during any test and balance required for systems
Update Foreman, direct supervisor and Maintenance Planning Specialist of HVAC/R component condition for planning purposes
Assist HVAC/R Staff with various HVAC/R issues
Assume the duties of HVAC Chiller Specialist when assigned

Required qualifications, skills and experience
Journeyman HVAC Competency Card or NATE Heat Pump Certification or a minimum 10 Years Experience in Commercial HVAC; Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification (EPA Section 608); R410A certification within two (2) years of employment
Three (3) or more years of successful experience related to specific trade category.
Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
