Job Description

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Journeyman's license or five (5) years of experience in the Masonry trade Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Physically able to perform job functions

Supply personal hand tools required to do job in a professional manner

Experience or working knowledge of other trades desired

Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License with a minimum Class B rating

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints

Position Goal:

This position is responsible for the management of operations involving the installation and demolition of brick, concrete block, stucco, and concrete flatwork.

Examples of Responsibilities:

To evaluate the performance of all subordinate employees within the Masonry Section and provide constructive counseling as required

To provide input regarding the employment or dismissal of Section employees

To manage the Section mission and assigned subordinate personnel

To assist the foreman in work order assignments to subordinate employees

To be responsible for all regularly required operational, safety and maintenance checks for Section assigned vehicles, tools and equipment

To stay abreast of technological changes associated with the trades in the Section

To ensure the proper management of the bench and shop stock material authorized to be carried on each assigned vehicle to the Section

To do job estimating and material ordering

To provide quality control inspections on completed work and ensure compliance with all applicable codes

To provide assistance in support of the moving and set up of relocatable classrooms

To manage the Masonry Section in support of assigned Capital Outlay projects

To set brick and CMUs according to industry standards To form, place and finish concrete flatwork

To place stucco or other portland coatings

To coordinate work with other trades

To recommend approval/disapproval of all non-stocked  item requests for  materials  and  repair pans

To assume the duties of the Building Specialties Division Foreman when assigned

To perform other work-related duties as assigned by Supervisor
