Job Description

Formal Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field, licensed by the State of Florida to render occupational therapy services.

Training and/or experience in pediatric occupational therapy.

Must have a valid Driver’s license and provide own transportation.

Position Goal: To provide occupational therapy services to eligible exceptional education students.

Examples of Responsibilities:

To assess students referred for occupational therapy.

To provide appropriate therapy for eligible exceptional students.

To develop therapy programs for individual students at school and at home.

To coordinate obtaining therapy prescriptions and monitoring individual programs with physicians.

To consult with teachers and parents regarding therapy programs.

To participate in staffings and other school meetings when necessary and feasible.

To recommend appropriate individual and group therapy equipment needs.

To maintain appropriate records as directed and required by school regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work requires moderate physical exertion and/or physical strain (may need to lift and/or move students).  Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements.
