Vocational or Technical School, certification, training or apprenticeship required beyond high school

Minimum of 5 years in automotive/heavy equipment maintenance. Prior supervisory experience.

Position Goal: This position is responsible for maintaining a preventive maintenance program for all School Board owned and operated motor vehicles, maintain a systematic program for the improvement and updating of skills of garage personnel.

Examples of Responsibilities:

Supervise all personnel in fleet maintenance/training.

Maintain a formal system for the evaluation of all parts and materials used.

Supervise fuel station at St. Cloud, Kissimmee, Horizon Middle School.

Responsible for signing daily purchase and work orders and verifies the information.

Prepares recall and warranty paperwork.

Assists in school bus accidents.

Maintains operational support systems (i.e. radio systems, video systems, etc.)

Meets vendors to learn about new products

Prepares the Field Trip Bus Schedule

Keeps inventory up to date and searches for parts, tools and special equipment

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work requires occasional physical exertion and/or physical strain to the point of physical fatigue.   Work environment involves exposure to job hazards where there is a high possibility of injury. Must participate in OTETA drug and alcohol testing requirements. Safety shoes required.
