This Technology Technician position will perform the Installation and troubleshooting of Low Voltage Network Infrastructure wiring.

This position is responsible for supporting and troubleshooting educational technology at the school and district level. The Technology Technician’s role is to provide a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, Remote Access, or via e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Perform New Data, Voice, Fiber Optic and Intercom cabling installations.
* Work involves driving a company vehicle; using hand tools; Climbing ladders.
* Perform Customer Instruction on Intercom System Operation and Functionality.
* Perform System Testing and Signal Verification.
* Follow all company safety policies and procedures; and reports all accidents, hazards, and equipment problems.
* Attend and participate in various meetings within the company.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications, skills and experience
High school Diploma or equivalent and graduation from a trade school in Computer or Electronic Technology, or other equivalent training.
Two years experience troubleshooting technology equipment, Local Area Network or computer systems.
Must have a valid Florida Drivers License.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING PREFERRED:
* Basic to advanced technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications industry and/or installation including voice and data structured cabling systems.
* Industry specific Manufacturer Certifications and BICSI training and/or Certifications is a plus.
* A working knowledge of TIA and BICSI Standards; including installation, trouble shooting and service.
* Working knowledge communication standards and installation. Experience in communications cabling is strongly preferred.
* Ability to follow blueprints, notes and specifications to meets the job requirements.
* Basic written and verbal communications skills.

This position is responsible for installation, repairs and maintenance of a variety of electrical
systems, appliances and equipment. Work is performed independently using specialized tools and is
checked upon completion for performance and
compliance with safety practices and regulations.
